Upcoming DDA Merchant Mixers

Hosted by Joel Dillingham (Looking Glass Brewing Co.), Andy Joslyn (Reed Insurance Agency), Sheryl Landgraft, Kelly Preston (Capital Steel & Wire), and Andrea Schowengerdt (DDA)

Please join several downtown business owners and the DDA for a Merchant Mixer at the Looking Glass Brewing Co. on May 17th. The purpose of this informal meeting is to gather input from downtown business owners to help make downtown DeWitt a destination within the community.

First, we would like the empty lot (on the corner of Main and Bridge St.) to be a temporary, useable space for the community. Some ideas are putting in a stage for music and movies, picnic tables, a fire pit, and bringing in food trucks. We would love to hear your budget-friendly ideas as well.

Also, the DDA recently conducted a survey wherein residents expressed the need for more activities downtown throughout the year. A link to the survey is below (after you click the link, select “see previous responses” and you will be able to see the survey results).  Based on this, we would also like to discuss developing a 12-month calendar to draw residents downtown. Attached is a sample 12-month calendar.

Finally, we would like to discuss developing and implementing an effective communication strategy to ensure residents and businesses are aware of activities going on downtown. Our goal is for this to be a collaborative effort between the DDA, City of DeWitt, Chamber, and downtown business owners.

All DDA Business Owners or Representatives, as well as other City of DeWitt Businesses, Members of the DeWitt Area Chamber of Commerce,  DeWitt Township Business owners or Representatives other surrounding area businesses are welcome to attend.
